Since 1999, Dr Larry Thompson has helmed the Ringling College of Art & Design. a year after its 75th anniversary, the four-year institution with a liberal arts slant is still on a growth spurt. New buildings and properties with two new technology-based departments pave the way to even more success. Graduates from the Ringling College snatch jobs at Pixar, Dreamworks and the likes. Prior to coming to Ringling, Dr Thompson was the first president and chief executive officer of the Flint Cultural Center located in Flint, Michigan. He served in that role from 1993-1999. The Flint Cultural Center is a 30-acre campus encompassing the nine leading cultural institutions of the greater Flint area. So how does this Ohio-bred lawyer and former CEO of Cleveland’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame did all this?
